Copperberry

This average-sized tree grows up to 36 meters (118.1 feet) tall and lives "forever", with many known specimens being tens of thousands of years old. It is very resistant to disease and destructive insect infestation.

It has a sturdy, curved trunk covered in waxy, copper-coloured bark, and inside, the light wood is yellow.

The branches are short, rigid and upright, with hundreds of twigs covered with small amounts of miniature, red needles. The needles themselves are resilient.

In late summer it produces medium-sized, dark red berries.

The roots are fine and grow in a large web, and overall the tree is sturdy and difficult to uproot.

Forests of this species feature trees spaced far apart, with patches of undergrowth between them.
