Golden Spindle Tree

Tree type: Deciduous (Grows along the ground or other low surfaces.)

This small tree grows up to 2 meters (6.6 feet) tall and lives for centuries, with the oldest known specimen being around 560 years old. It is not very resistant to disease and destructive insect infestation.

It has a long and flexible, twisting trunk covered in paper-thin, rough, yellow bark, and inside, the very hard wood is gray.

The small bunches of branches are short, thin and wispy and are covered with sparse amounts of clammy, small, pleated leaves with wavy edges. The leaves themselves are beige at the bottom and gold with bronze zig-zags at the top.

In late summer it forms giant, brilliant orange, winged seeds that spin and fall nearby.

The roots are shallow and widely spread, and overall the tree is sturdy, flexible, and difficult to uproot or break.

Forests of this species feature well-spaced trees, with clear space between them.

It is difficult to kill and will quickly regrow if it falls or if its limbs are knocked off.
