Giant Waterstem Bloom
Flower type: Annual (Stores water in its stem)This colossal flower grows up to 14.6 feet (4.4 meters) tall. Its emerald stems grow from the base of the plant in bunches of 8 and are very thin and straight, and split into many branching stems three quarters of the way up, and the large, orange leaves are very thin with smooth edges. The leaves grow in pairs along the length of the stem.
3 to 6 giant flowers grow on alternate sides up the length of the stem. The flowers are 53 cm (20.9 inches) wide, with alternating petals of blue and blood red, with a blood red central disk. The flower head is an uncoordinated mess of 52 petals. They are very delicate.
It has a weak scent that smells like freshly washed clothes, and it has a modest amount of pollen; it does not cause many allergic reactions. It is a self-pollinator.
