Clinging Copperpine

This average-sized tree grows up to 50 meters (164.1 feet) tall and lives for over 1,000 years, with the oldest known specimen being around 1143 years old. It is not very resistant to disease and destructive insect infestation.

It has a thick, wonky trunk covered in paper-thin, rough, gray bark, and inside, the hard wood is copper-coloured.

The numerous branches are tall, rigid and upright, covered with small amounts of giant, red needles. The needles themselves are robust.

In late summer it produces large, beige seed pods.

The roots are thick and spread across the surface, as well as underground, and overall the tree is sturdy and rigid.

Forests of this species feature trees spaced far apart, with grassy ground between them.
