Crimson Moss

This red moss is commonly found blanketing medium-sized areas On trees.
It is large, growing up to 7 inches (18 cm) tall. It forms in extensive patches, and is very flexible.
When mature, emerald V-shaped capsules grow at the end of elongated, lime green sporophytes, eventually opening up during the late summer to release thousands of spores.
