Bronzeblood

This modest-sized flower grows up to 11 inches (28 cm) tall. Its moss green stem is very thick and straight with a curved tip, and the miniature, yellow-green leaves are long, narrow with wavy edges. The leaves alternate on the stem from about halfway up, up to the flower head.

Each stem splits 6 to 11 times; a single tiny flower grows at the end of each split. The flowers are 11 cm (4.3 inches) wide, with solid bronze petals decorated with pink lines and a grey central disk. The flower head is largely flat with 9 widely spaced round-tipped petals. They are hardy.

It has a powerful scent that smells like blood, and it has very little pollen. It is pollinated by a small species of bird.
