Blue Spruce

This short tree grows up to 2 meters (6.6 feet) tall and lives "forever", with many known specimens being tens of thousands of years old. It is very resistant to destructive insect infestation but susceptible to disease.

It has a narrow, straight trunk covered in delicate, knobbly, black with white speckled bark, and inside, the light wood is yellow-brown.

The tangled mess of branches trail down across the ground, with hundreds of twigs covered with large amounts of huge, azure or slate needles. The needles themselves are delicate.

In late summer it produces medium-sized, olive, tough-shelled seeds.

The roots are shallow and grow straight down, and overall the tree is rigid and weak, and breaks apart easily.

Forests of this species feature the trees packed together densely, with patches of undergrowth between them.
