Olive Moss

This hazel or olive moss is commonly found blanketing small areas In bogs.
It is modest-sized, growing up to 5 inches (13 cm) tall. It forms in extensive patches and they overwhelm an area rapidly, and is very delicate; it dislikes being stepped on.
When mature, emerald triangular capsules grow at the end of short, lime green sporophytes, eventually opening up during the early winter to release millions of spores.
