Silverbell

Tree type: Coniferous (Stores water in its stem)

This enormous tree grows up to 98 meters (321.5 feet) tall and lives for over 2,000 years, with the oldest known specimen being around 2227 years old. It is very resistant to disease but is susceptible to destructive insect infestation.

It has a stocky, straight trunk covered in paper-thin, rough, silver and white bark, and inside, the hard wood is pale brown-grey.

The sparse amount of branches are tall, rigid and upright, with thousands of twigs covered with handfuls of tiny, red needles. The needles themselves are delicate.

In late summer it produces giant, olive, tough-shelled seeds.

The roots are shallow and grow straight down, and overall the tree is sturdy, flexible, and difficult to uproot or break.

Forests of this species feature trees spaced far apart, with clear space between them.

It is suitable for creating tough, hard-wearing textiles
It is almost impossible to grow indoors.
Several parts of the caudiciform have medicinal properties.
