Crimson Moss

This red moss is commonly found blanketing tiny areas In rainy mountain ranges, In damp forests, and In marshes.
It is small, growing up to 1 inch (3 cm) tall. It forms in extensive patches and they are slow to spread and grow, and is extremely flimsy.
When mature, emerald crescent-shaped capsules grow at the end of long, lime green sporophytes, eventually opening up during the late autumn to release millions of spores; it does not cause many allergic reactions.
