Azure Petal

This short flower grows up to 2 inches (5 cm) tall. Its green stems grow from the base of the plant in bunches of 3 and are thick and straight, and split into numerous branching stems halfway up, and the miniature, red leaves are light silver on the underside and are wide with serrated edges. Many leaves grow at the base of the stem, and more leaves alternate on the stem from about halfway up, up to the flower head.

3 to 9 tiny flowers grow on alternate sides up the length of the stem. The flowers are 3 cm (1.2 inches) wide, with petals that are either azure or deep green, with a yellow center. The flower head is an uncoordinated mess of up to 10 curved petals. They detach easily.

It has a weak scent that smells like fermented fruit, and it has lots of pollen. It is pollinated by the wind, but is also particularly attractive to bees.
