Silverwood

This large shrub grows up to 8 feet (2.4 meters) tall and lives for around 42 years. It is not very resistant to disease and destructive insect infestation.

It has several branched, straight stems covered in very thick, wrinkled, gray bark, and the wood inside is silver.

The branches are short and thin with dozens of twigs that and are covered with handfuls of small, sickle shaped, leaves with wavy edges. The leaves themselves are bronze at the bottom and green with cyan zig-zags at the top, tough and smooth.

In mid-summer it produces dozens of large, dark brown blossoms with crescent-shaped shaped petals. They detach easily and have a mildly strong scent that smells like chocolate.

In mid-autumn small cuboid fruits ripen. The soft turquoise skin is thick and sweet, and the soft blood red flesh is sour and juicy. The white seeds are tiny and are dotted around on the skin of the fruit.
