Crimson Wingedvine

This enormous shrub grows up to 14 feet (4.3 meters) tall and lives for decades, with the oldest known specimen being around 132 years old. It is very resistant to disease but is susceptible to destructive insect infestation.

It has dozens of slender, crooked stems covered in fine, wrinkled, burgundy bark, and the wood inside is white with black speckles.

The branches trail down to the ground with dozens of twigs that and are covered with small bunches of miniature, V-shaped, leaves with irregular edges. The leaves themselves are washed-out orange and pink, resilient and leathery.

It produces several medium-sized, bronze flowers with crescent-shaped shaped petals. They detach easily and have a fairly strong scent that smells like damp. In late summer it forms tinyred, winged seeds that float and land far away.
