Emerald

This small caudiciform grows up to 10 feet (3.0 meters) tall. The tapering stem is emerald, and is covered in large amounts of fine, dark red, hair-like spines. It has a twisting, thick, gold trunk atop a thick tripod of silky, exposed roots. The branches are wide and deep green and are very short and thin.

The wavy-edged, long, tapering leaves are gold and black. They are flimsy, but take some effort to detach.

It is quick growing, taking 4 months to reach maturity. Once mature, several flowers with each petal a slightly different shade of drab blue grow at the top, reappearing once every 7 years. The flower head is shaped like a trumpet with 29 widely spaced, round-tipped petals. It has a strong scent that smells like warm cookies.

The caudiciform's skin is thick, the pink flesh is rough, and the olive sap is thin.
