Orangefruit Tree

Fruit Tree type: Deciduous (Grows along the ground or other low surfaces.)

This average-sized fruit tree grows up to 14 feet (4.3 meters) tall and lives for up to 45 years, with the oldest known specimen being around 50 years old. It is somewhat resistant to disease and destructive insect infestation.

It has a wide, curved trunk covered in thin, ridged, light gray bark, and inside, the light wood is pale yellow.

The sparse amount of branches trail down across the ground and are covered with sparse amounts of large, very thin leaves with smooth edges. The leaves themselves are solid orange with light brown edges.

In early spring, it produces lots of small, yellow blossoms with finger-like petals with a trumpet-shaped floral cup. They fall easily and have a faint scent that smells like rich perfume.

In late autumn it produces , cuboid fruit. The fuzzy grey skin is thin and bitter and spicy, and the very soft hazel flesh is bitter and syrupy. The lime seed is very large and is in the centre of the fruit.

The roots are shallow and widely spread, and overall the tree is sturdy, flexible, and difficult to uproot or break.

Forests of this species feature the trees packed together densely, with patches of undergrowth between them.

It is suitable for creating fine, soft textiles
