Bronzeberry

This modest-sized fruit tree grows up to 13 feet (4.0 meters) tall and lives for up to 25 years, with the oldest known specimen being around 27 years old. It is not very resistant to disease and destructive insect infestation.

It has a long and flexible, slanted trunk covered in very thick, silky, brown-green speckled bark, and inside, the soft wood is copper-coloured.

The excessive amount of branches are very long, thin and wispy and are covered with copious amounts of miniature, 4 pointed leaves with ripped edges. The leaves themselves are a shade of azure that gradient shifts to caramel at the top.

In early spring, it produces many medium-sized, hazel blossoms with flame-shaped petals with a bell-shaped floral cup. They fall easily and have a mildly strong scent that smells like glue.

In mid-autumn it produces , finger-like fruit. The fuzzy bronze skin is stretchy and bitter and spicy, and the slightly crunchy hazel flesh is sour and savoury and syrupy. The lime seed is very large and sits at the end of the fruit.

The roots form a tightly packed ball, and overall the tree is rigid and weak, and breaks apart easily.

Forests of this species feature well-spaced trees, with grassy ground between them.
