Grass type: Biennial (Stores water in its leaves)This modest-sized, orange grass grows up to 2 feet (61.0 cm) tall. The perforated stalks grow in extensive patches that are strong and tough.
When mature, the end of the stem eventually transforms into a medium-sized, amber tail.
During the early winter, it produces lots of pollen; it does not cause many allergic reactions, and after flowering, it is left with excessive amounts of large grains.
The grains are bitter, but very healthy and are suitable for boiling.
It is suitable for creating tough, hard-wearing textiles
