Goldenpine

Tree type: Coniferous (Stores water in the thickened base of its stem)

This short tree grows up to 2 meters (6.6 feet) tall and lives for over 1,000 years, with the oldest known specimen being around 1463 years old. It is somewhat resistant to disease and destructive insect infestation.

It has a knobbly, straight trunk covered in waxy, pine-coloured bark, and inside, the medium-dense wood is silver.

The sparse amount of branches are very long, thin and wispy, with thousands of twigs covered with sparse amounts of large, orange-yellow needles. The needles themselves are frail.

In late summer it produces medium-sized, brilliant yellow, spiky-shelled seeds.

The roots are thick and spread across the surface, as well as underground, and overall the tree is sturdy and rigid.

Forests of this species feature well-spaced trees, with patches of undergrowth between them.

It is suitable for creating fine, soft textiles
