White Spikegrass

Grass type: Biennial (Stores water in the thickened base of its stem)

This short, white grass grows up to 1 foot (30.5 cm) tall. The slender, pointed stalks grow in thick clumps that are resilient and they spread and grow quickly.

When mature, the end of the stem eventually transforms into a giant, brown spikelet.

During the early winter, it produces lots of pollen; it can cause severe allergic reactions, and after flowering, it is left with a few large grains.

It comes in 13 varieties, each with a different leaf colour.
It is suitable for creating flexible, durable textiles
