Copper Succulent
Succulent type: Caudiciform (Stores water in the thickened base of its stem)This modest-sized caudiciform grows up to 57 feet (17.4 meters) tall. The thin stem is copper, and is covered in copious amounts of rigid amber spines. The bulbous, bright orange trunk can grow to as much as 57 feet (17.4 meters) in diameter. Its gray branches are very long, thin and wispy.
The wavy-edged, perforated leaves are either purple or olive, with pink splotches. They are light, and detach easily.
It is fast growing, taking 4 months to reach maturity. Once mature, several flowers with hazel petals on the lower layer and lilac petals decorated with bronze dots on the inner layer. The central disk is lilac grow at the top, reappearing every year. The flower head is an uncoordinated mess of 30 petals. It has a mildly strong scent that smells like coffee.
The caudiciform's skin is nearly impenetrable, the azure flesh is smooth, and the orange sap is thin.
It aggressively steals nutrients from other large plants (but not each other).
It is suitable for creating tough, hard-wearing textiles
It is almost impossible to grow indoors.
