Purple Blade Succulent

Succulent type: Leaf succulent (Stores water in its leaves)

This average-sized leaf succulent grows up to 21 feet (6.4 meters) tall. The stiff, pointed stem is gray, and is covered in hundreds of rigid dark grey spines. The wavy-edged, slender, pointed leaves are either olive or brilliant purple, with crimson lines. Large amounts of them grow from the base like blades of grass. The leaves are robust, but detach easily.

It is fast growing, taking 2 months to reach maturity. Once mature, a handful of flowers, with each petal a slightly different shade of bright orange, grow at the top, reappearing every year. The flower head is an uncoordinated mess of 55 petals. It has the faintest scent that smells like pot-purri.

The leaf succulent's skin is nearly impenetrable, the brilliant red flesh is rough, and the copper sap is thin.
