Twistvine Fruit Tree

Fruit Tree type: Deciduous (Grows upwards by winding itself around other objects and plants.)

This modest-sized fruit tree grows up to 18 feet (5.5 meters) tall and lives for up to 35 years, with the oldest known specimen being around 66 years old. It is somewhat resistant to disease and destructive insect infestation.

It has a long and flexible, crooked trunk covered in paper-thin, ridged, yellow-brown bark, and inside, the light wood is pale brown.

The sparse amount of branches are tall, rigid and upright and are covered with thick bunches of huge, long, tapering leaves with smooth edges. The leaves themselves are either hazel or blue, with peach patches.

In early spring, it produces handfuls of medium-sized, caramel blossoms with spear shaped petals. They fall easily and have a scent whose strength depends on external factors, such as soil quality and rain frequency that smells like marzipan.

In mid-autumn it produces very large, long, narrow fruit. The sticky pink skin is thick and sour and savoury, and the slightly crunchy beige flesh is spicy and savoury and very juicy. The slate seeds are small and are bunched at the top of the fruit.

The roots grow as a near perfect mirror of the tree above, and overall the tree is rigid and brittle.

Forests of this species feature the trees packed together densely, with patches of undergrowth between them.
