Silverleaf Willow

This short shrub grows up to 1 foot (30.5 cm) tall and lives for around 12 years. It is very resistant to disease but is susceptible to destructive insect infestation.

It has numerous slender, slanted stems covered in delicate, silky, dark gray bark, and the wood inside is pale yellow.

The branches are very short, thin and wispy with thousands of twigs that and are covered with sparse amounts of huge, fan-like, leaves with irregular edges. The leaves themselves are blue on the edges and silver at the center, resilient and smooth.

It produces several medium-sized, olive flowers with perforated petals with a trumpet-shaped floral cup. They are sturdy and have an overpowering scent that smells like baby powder. In early autumn it forms tinywhite, winged seeds that float and land far away.
