Spicy Fruit Tree

This modest-sized fruit tree grows up to 11 feet (3.4 meters) tall and lives for up to 20 years, with the oldest known specimen being around 48 years old. It is not very resistant to disease and destructive insect infestation.

It has a sturdy, straight trunk covered in hard, waxy, black with white speckled bark, and inside, the very hard wood is dark brown.

The tangled mess of branches trail down to the ground and are covered with copious amounts of huge, very thick leaves with jagged edges. The leaves themselves are either peach, or florescent orange with indigo splotches.

In early spring, it produces many giant, grey blossoms with wide petals. They are hardy and have a delicate scent that smells like vanilla.

In late autumn it produces small, finger-like fruit. The hairy florescent orange skin is tough and inedible, and the soft florescent orange flesh is very spicy and powdery. The caramel seeds are tiny and are scattered throughout the fruit.

The roots are fine and grow in a large web, and overall the tree is sturdy and rigid.

Forests of this species feature the trees packed together, with clear space between them.
