Cyan Dreamflower

This enormous flower grows up to 12.5 feet (3.8 meters) tall. Its gray stem is thin, and the huge, green leaves are light burgundy on the underside and are asymmetrical with serrated edges. The leaves alternate on the stem from about halfway up, up to the flower head.

Each stem splits 6 to 9 times; a single large flower grows at the end of each split. The flowers are 36 cm (14.2 inches) wide, with solid cyan petals and a green central disk. The flower head is largely flat with several widely spaced round-tipped petals. They are sturdy.

It has an overpowering scent that smells like old books, and it has an average amount of pollen. It is pollinated by a small species of bird, but is also particularly attractive to bees.
