Copperleaf

This short tree grows up to 2 meters (6.6 feet) tall and lives for centuries, with the oldest known specimen being around 359 years old. It is very resistant to disease and destructive insect infestation.

It has a stocky, angular trunk covered in smooth, dark green bark, and inside, the very dense wood is copper-coloured.

The sparse amount of branches trail down towards the ground and are covered with large amounts of crispy, tiny, pleated leaves with serrated edges. The leaves themselves are solid white with drab yellow streaks.

In late summer it forms small, light green seed pods.

The roots are shallow and grow straight down, and overall the tree is rigid and brittle.

Forests of this species feature trees spaced far apart, with clear space between them.
