Copper moss

This copper and hazel moss is commonly found blanketing large areas In rainy mountain ranges, and In marshes.
It is big, growing up to 6 inches (15 cm) tall. It forms in thin clumps and they are slow to spread and grow, and is slightly flimsy.
When mature, emerald shield-shaped capsules grow at the end of long, lime green sporophytes, eventually opening up during the early summer to release thousands of spores; it does not cause any allergic reactions.
