Purple Glowvine

This average-sized flower grows up to 1.7 feet (51 cm) tall. Its green stem is thick and straight with a curved tip, and the giant, purple leaves are very thick with toothed edges. Many leaves grow at the base of the stem, and a pair of leaves grow at the base of the flower head.

4 to 7 tiny flowers grow on alternate sides up the length of the stem. The flowers are 35 cm (13.8 inches) wide, with petals that are azure at the sides and orange at the center. The flower head is made up of several petals; the lower layer of petals are flat, while the upper layers form a tight cup. They are sturdy.

It has a strong scent that smells like wet dog, and it has lots of pollen. It is pollinated by a small species of bird, but is also particularly attractive to bees.
