Silverpine

Tree type: Coniferous (Grows upwards by clinging to almost any surface.)

This modest-sized tree grows up to 52 meters (170.6 feet) tall and lives for over 1,000 years, with the oldest known specimen being around 1316 years old. It is very susceptible to disease and insect infestation.

It has a long and flexible, straight trunk covered in thin, silky, silver bark, and inside, the medium-dense wood is copper-coloured.

The branches trail down across the ground, with thousands of twigs covered with very large amounts of huge, silver needles. The needles themselves are flimsy.

In late summer it produces medium-sized, white aril (seeds with fleshy covers).

The roots are shallow and widely spread, and overall the tree is rigid and brittle.

Forests of this species feature the trees packed together, with the space between them filled with thick undergrowth.
