Black-Gold Bine

Climbing plant type: Bine (Grows upwards by winding itself around other objects and plants.)

This modest-sized bine is a steady-growing plant, with the largest known specimen reaching a length of 49 feet (14.9 meters) and growing as high as 448 feet (136.6 meters).

It takes 5 years for the lime green stems to mature, by which point they have often fused together into ropes with a diameter of 3 inches (8 cm) and are smooth and rubbery.

The pleated, smooth leaves reach up to 11 inches (28 cm) in length. They are black on the edges and gold at the center, and have wavy edges.

During late spring, the bine produces lots of average cream flowers.

It is suitable for making baskets and the like
It aggressively steals nutrients from other large plants (but not each other).
