Knobbly Lime

Tree type: Coniferous (Grows along the ground or other low surfaces.)

This short tree grows up to 6 meters (19.7 feet) tall and lives for centuries, with the oldest known specimen being around 347 years old. It is somewhat resistant to disease and destructive insect infestation.

It has a knobbly, angular trunk covered in very thick, knobbly, pine-coloured bark, and inside, the soft wood is black.

The branches are very long and slender, with hundreds of twigs covered with handfuls of giant, yellow-green needles. The needles themselves are hardy.

In late summer it produces medium-sized, lime, shelled seeds.

The roots grow as a near perfect mirror of the tree above, and overall the tree is sturdy and rigid.

Forests of this species feature the trees packed together densely, with the space between filled with undergrowth.

It aggressively steals nutrients from other large plants (but not each other).
It can flourish even in standing water.
