Cream Trumpet Flower

This short flower grows up to 3 inches (8 cm) tall. Its light brown and olive stem is wispy and splits into many branching stems three quarters of the way up, and the miniature, silver leaves are slender, pointed with toothed edges. Many leaves grow at the base of the stem, and a pair of leaves grow at the base of the flower head.

Two large flowers sit at the end of each stem. The flowers are 18 cm (7.1 inches) wide, with petals that are either cream or turquoise, with a yellow center. The flower head is shaped like a trumpet with 48 raised, round-tipped petals. They fall easily.

It has an intense scent that smells like baby powder, and it has very little pollen. It is pollinated by insects , but is also visited by a small species of bird.
