Lilac

Shrub type: Deciduous (Grows upwards by clinging to almost any surface.)

This colossal shrub grows up to 10 feet (3.0 meters) tall and lives for decades, with the oldest known specimen being around 178 years old. It is somewhat resistant to disease and destructive insect infestation.

It has numerous narrow, straight stems covered in delicate, waxy, brown bark, and the wood inside is mahogany-coloured.

The branches are very long and thin that and are covered with small bunches of giant, spear shaped, leaves with jagged edges. The leaves themselves are dark brown with lilac tips, sturdy and covered in fine hairs.

In early summer it produces several small, orange blossoms with circular petals with a tube-like floral cup. They are very delicate and have a delicate scent that smells like apple.

In late winter small circular fruits ripen. The clammy yellow skin is stretchy and edible when boiled; it is bitter, and the very soft green flesh is savoury and very dry. The grey seeds are small and are bunched at the top of the fruit.

It releases hallucinogenic smoke when burned.
It is suitable for making strong rope
All parts of the caudiciform are edible.
