Spined Azureleaf
Succulent type: Leaf succulent (Stores water in its leaves)This big leaf succulent grows up to 82 feet (25.0 meters) tall. The sickle shaped stem is moss green, and is dotted with small lime spines. The thick leaves are found in azure, caramel and bronze varieties. Thick bunches of them grow on thick, lime green branches that are short, rigid and upright. The leaves are rigid, but take some effort to detach.
It is very fast growing, taking 5 months to reach maturity. Once mature, several flowers with copper petals and a bold red central disk grow at the top, reappearing every year. The flower head is largely flat with 21 widely spaced round-tipped petals. It has a strong scent that smells like new carpet.
The leaf succulent's skin is tough, the magenta flesh is smooth, and the dark grey sap is thin.
The sap is washed-out orange.
It is suitable for creating flexible, durable textiles
