Limeberry Tree

Fruit Tree type: Deciduous (Grows along the ground or other low surfaces.)

This average-sized fruit tree grows up to 12 feet (3.7 meters) tall and lives for up to 25 years, with the oldest known specimen being around 46 years old. It is very resistant to disease but is susceptible to destructive insect infestation.

It has a slender, curved trunk covered in hard, knobbly, silver and white bark, and inside, the light wood is dark brown.

The abundance of branches are very short and thick and are covered with sparse amounts of tiny, wispy leaves with wavy edges. The leaves themselves are hazel at the bottom and aquamarine with violet dots at the top.

In early spring, it produces many medium-sized, lime blossoms with many layers of petals. They detach easily and have a delicate scent that smells like petrol.

In mid-autumn it produces tiny, long, narrow fruit. The smooth lime skin is tough and salty, and the crunchy magenta flesh is sweet and powdery. The crimson seeds are large and are scattered throughout the fruit.

The roots are fine and grow in a large web, and overall the tree is rigid and brittle.

Forests of this species feature the trees packed together densely, with clear space between them.

It is suitable for creating fine, soft textiles
