Mahogany
Tree type: Deciduous (Grows along the ground or other low surfaces.)This large tree grows up to 76 meters (249.4 feet) tall and lives for centuries, with the oldest known specimen being around 438 years old. It is not very resistant to disease and destructive insect infestation.
It has a stocky, curved trunk covered in thick, knobbly, dark gray bark, and inside, the very hard wood is mahogany-coloured.
The small bunches of branches trail down to the ground and are covered with large amounts of rough, huge, 4 pointed leaves with jagged edges. The leaves themselves are lime at the bottom and gold with hazel lines at the top.
In late summer it forms large, bronze, tough-shelled seeds.
The roots are fine and grow in a large web, and overall the tree is rigid and weak, and breaks apart easily.
Forests of this species feature the trees packed together densely, with clear space between them.
It is suitable for creating fine, soft textiles
