Silverberry

This large shrub grows up to 7 feet (2.1 meters) tall and lives for around 37 years. It is very susceptible to disease and insect infestation.

It has several thick, slanted stems covered in ridged, silver bark, and the wood inside is pale yellow.

The branches trail down towards the ground that and are covered with large amounts of giant, broad, flat, leaves with rounded edges. The leaves themselves are black and caramel, frail and clammy.

In early summer it produces thick bunches of giant, brown blossoms with 6 umbrella-shaped shaped petals. They detach easily and have a soft scent that smells like cigarette smoke.

In mid-autumn broad, flat fruits ripen. The crispy cream skin is stretchy and sweet, and the soft beige flesh is overwhelmingly sour and very dry. The slate seed is large and sits at the end of the fruit.
