Violetbrush

This modest-sized shrub grows up to 2 feet (61.0 cm) tall and lives for around 73 years. It is very resistant to disease but is susceptible to destructive insect infestation.

It has several thick, straight stems covered in thin, silky, dark gray bark, and the wood inside is light brown.

The branches are short, rigid and upright with dozens of twigs that and are covered with small amounts of large, 2 pointed, leaves with wavy edges. The leaves themselves are found in black and faded purple varieties, strong and leathery.

In mid-spring it produces thick bunches of medium-sized, cyan flowers with 8 circular shaped petals. They are very delicate and have an intensely strong scent that smells like varnish.
