Aquamarine

Flower type: Biennial (Grows and flowers repeatedly for more than two years)

This short flower grows up to 3 inches (8 cm) tall. Its lime green stem is very thick, and the giant, aquamarine leaves are thin with serrated edges. Many leaves grow at the base of the stem, and more leaves alternate on the stem from about halfway up, up to the flower head.

A single small flower sits at the end of the stem. The flowers are 9 cm (3.5 inches) wide, with solid olive petals decorated with slate dots and a blue central disk. The flower head is made up of many petals in raised layers. They are very delicate.

It has no scent, and it has very little pollen. It is pollinated by the wind, but is also visited by some specific types of insect.


It is suitable for making strong rope
It has impressive regenerative properties.
