Silverbell

This average-sized shrub grows up to 4 feet (1.2 meters) tall and lives for around 38 years. It is very resistant to disease but is susceptible to destructive insect infestation.

It has numerous narrow, twisting stems covered in thin, wrinkled, silver bark, and the wood inside is dark brown.

The branches are tall, rigid and upright with thousands of twigs that and are covered with handfuls of giant, long, narrow, leaves with toothed edges. The leaves themselves are green and aquamarine, delicate and sticky.

It produces a handful of medium-sized, crimson flowers with fan-like petals with a bell-shaped floral cup. They fall easily and have a mildly strong scent that smells like warm milk. In mid-autumn it forms smallgrey, shelled seeds.
