Violetvine

This small flower grows up to 2 inches (5 cm) tall. Its emerald stem is very thin, and the small, green leaves are spear shaped with irregular edges. The leaves grow from the base and are the same length as the stem.

A single small flower sits at the end of the stem. The flowers are 1 cm (0.4 inches) wide, with petals that are purple on the edges and violet at the center. The flower head is largely flat with 13 raised narrow petals. They detach easily.

It has an overpowering scent that smells like candle wax, and it has very little pollen; it can cause severe allergic reactions. It is pollinated by insects , but is also visited by a small species of bird.
