Lime Moss

This yellow-green moss is commonly found growing in large clumps In moorlands, and In rainy mountain ranges.
It is modest-sized, growing up to 4 inches (10 cm) tall. It forms in sparse patches and they spread and grow quickly, and is very frail.
When mature, emerald shield-shaped capsules grow at the end of short, lime green sporophytes, eventually opening up during the early winter to release thousands of spores.
