Copperleaf

This modest-sized tree grows up to 33 meters (108.3 feet) tall and lives for centuries, with the oldest known specimen being around 382 years old. It is very susceptible to disease and insect infestation.

It has a stocky, curved trunk covered in hard, rough, brown and grey bark, and inside, the hard wood is mahogany-coloured.

The branches are short and thick and are covered with sparse amounts of sticky, tiny, pleated leaves with wavy edges. The leaves themselves are a shade of copper that gradient shifts to hazel at the top.

In late summer it forms medium-sized, caramel, winged seeds that spin and fall nearby.

The roots form a tightly packed ball, and overall the tree is sturdy and difficult to uproot.

Forests of this species feature the trees packed together, with grassy ground between them.
