Purpleleaf Ash

This large tree grows up to 74 meters (242.8 feet) tall and lives for centuries, with the oldest known specimen being around 365 years old. It is very resistant to destructive insect infestation but susceptible to disease.

It has a knobbly, slanted trunk covered in fine, knobbly, pine-coloured bark, and inside, the very hard wood is pale brown.

The branches trail down across the ground and are covered with small amounts of covered in fine hairs, giant, thick leaves with wavy edges. The leaves themselves are either peach, or deep purple with gentle red patches.

In late summer it forms medium-sized, turquoise berries.

The roots form a tightly packed ball, and overall the tree is sturdy, flexible, and difficult to uproot or break.

Forests of this species feature the trees packed together densely, with grassy ground between them.
