Magenta

This small shrub grows up to 1 foot (30.5 cm) tall and lives for around 16 years. It is very susceptible to disease and insect infestation.

It has dozens of slender, slanted stems covered in smooth, brown and grey bark, and the wood inside is dark brown.

The branches are short and thin with hundreds of twigs that and are covered with copious amounts of tiny, wide, leaves with smooth edges. The leaves themselves are magenta on the sides and caramel at the center, strong and flexible and leathery.

In mid-spring it produces thick bunches of medium-sized, peach blossoms with fan-like petals. They are sturdy and have a delicate scent that smells like fermented fruit.

In early winter pleated fruits ripen. The fuzzy cyan skin is peel-able and bitter and salty, and the soft magenta flesh is bitter and syrupy. The crimson seeds are large and are located in the centre of the fruit.
