Violetbell

This average-sized flower grows up to 1.9 feet (58 cm) tall. Its silver stems grow from the base of the plant in bunches of 7 and are thick and straight, and split into numerous branching stems a quarter of the way up, and the large, violet or light grey leaves are wide with smooth edges. A pair of leaves grow at the base of the stem.

A single small flower sits at the end of each stem. The flowers are 5 cm (2.0 inches) wide, with solid violet petals decorated with green dots and a hazel central disk. The flower head is largely flat with 14 tightly layered narrow petals. They fall easily.

It has a weak scent that smells like lemon, and it has lots of pollen. It is pollinated by insects and is particularly attractive to butterflies.
