Silverpetal

This huge flower grows up to 9.0 feet (2.7 meters) tall. Its gray-green stems grow in bunches of 4 and are very thin with a curved tip, and the large, silver leaves are stiff, pointed with rounded edges. The leaves alternate on the stem from the base up to about halfway.

Each stem splits 6 to 8 times; a single medium-sized flower grows at the end of each split. The flowers are 36 cm (14.2 inches) wide, with petals that are lilac in the center, turquoise in the middle and gold at the edges. The flower head is largely flat with many tightly layered narrow petals. They fall easily.

It has a strong scent that smells like faeces, and it has an average amount of pollen. It is pollinated by the wind, but is enjoyed by several specific types of insect.
