Turquoise

This small fruit tree grows up to 6 feet (1.8 meters) tall and lives for up to 20 years, with the oldest known specimen being around 30 years old. It is not very resistant to disease and destructive insect infestation.

It has a flexible, straight trunk covered in wrinkled, dark brown bark, and inside, the dense wood is pine-coloured.

The sparse amount of branches are short and thick and are covered with large amounts of giant, long, narrow leaves with tattered edges. The leaves themselves are a shade of brown that gradient shifts to light brown at the top.

In early spring, it produces hundreds of medium-sized, beige blossoms with circular petals with a trumpet-shaped floral cup. They are very delicate and have a scent that varies in strength that smells like fresh linen.

In late summer it produces tiny, 4 pointed fruit. The rubbery turquoise skin is thick and spicy and salty, and the crunchy purple flesh is sweet and spicy and juicy. The gold seeds are tiny and are scattered throughout the fruit.

The roots form a tightly packed ball, and overall the tree is rigid and weak, and breaks apart easily.

Forests of this species feature trees spaced far apart, with patches of undergrowth between them.
