Orange Blossom Tree

Fruit Tree type: Deciduous (Stores water in the thickened base of its stem)

This giant fruit tree grows up to 62 feet (18.9 meters) tall and lives for up to 20 years, with the oldest known specimen being around 27 years old. It is very resistant to destructive insect infestation but susceptible to disease.

It has a narrow, straight trunk covered in waxy, gray bark, and inside, the light wood is burgundy.

The branches are short and thick and are covered with very large amounts of giant, 5 pointed leaves with toothed edges. The leaves themselves are found in blue and pastel orange varieties.

In early spring, it produces large amounts of medium-sized, orange blossoms with wide petals with a trumpet-shaped floral cup. They are very delicate and have a delicate scent that smells like candle wax.

In late summer it produces small, pleated fruit. The smooth lime skin is thick and inedible, and the crunchy gold flesh is bitter and dry. The silver seeds are small and are scattered throughout the fruit.

The roots are shallow and grow straight down, and overall the tree is sturdy and difficult to uproot.

Forests of this species feature the trees packed together, with grassy ground between them.

It makes a distinctive sound when the wind blows through it.
It only grows on the most fertile lands.
It can survive a very long time without water.
It is suitable for creating flexible, durable textiles
