Magenta
Fruit Tree type: Deciduous (Stores water in its stem)This small fruit tree grows up to 5 feet (1.5 meters) tall and lives for up to 25 years, with the oldest known specimen being around 44 years old. It is somewhat resistant to disease and destructive insect infestation.
It has a flexible, straight trunk covered in wrinkled, silver and white bark, and inside, the medium-dense wood is dark brown.
The small handful of branches are very long and slender and are covered with small bunches of miniature, very thick leaves with smooth edges. The leaves themselves are found in violet and cyan varieties.
In early spring, it produces copious amounts of medium-sized, pink blossoms with oblong petals with a bell-shaped floral cup. They are hardy and have a soft scent that smells like old shoes.
In late summer it produces , stiff, pointed fruit. The soft blood red skin is thick and sour, and the soft magenta flesh is spicy and dry. The brown seed is small and sits at the end of the fruit.
The roots grow as a near perfect mirror of the tree above, and overall the tree is sturdy and rigid.
Forests of this species feature well-spaced trees, with patches of undergrowth between them.
It is suitable for creating tough, hard-wearing textiles
